“Architects working as a community of professionals to create better places for people “AIA National

As a local community of architects, AIA Southwest Washington is pursuing community goals aimed at strengthening our connections with each other, celebrating our achievements and building relationships with others who participate in creating and improving our built environment. AIA members work together with business leaders, civil servants, allied professionals and members of the general public to improve America’s communities and improve the integrity, utility, aesthetics, and value of our built surroundings.

Our Community Goals are to:

  • MEMBERSHIP: To expand membership, increasing member support and involvement;
  • LEADERSHIP: Commit to encouraging and developing new leadership within the profession;
  • FELLOWSHIP: Provide forums for professional fellowship among chapter members and the greater design community, honoring and recognizing individuals and connecting and collaborating with other organizations within the design community;
  • DESIGN: Provide forums for critiquing and celebrating work within the chapter;
  • ETHNICS: Provide forums for member accountability
